Separation and analysis of DNA by electrophoresis.
Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis, the polymerase chain reaction and capillary electrophoresis represent major technical advances in DNA electrophoresis in the last few years. This has lead to a number of new applications, including the cloning of large DNA fragments, multiplex analysis of DNA samples, and the detection of single base changes in DNA. New fluorescent and chemiluminescent techniques promise to simplify detection methods.[1]References
