Kaposi's sarcoma in rheumatoid arthritis.

Cutaneous Kaposi's sarcoma developed eight months after initiation of prednisone treatment in a 58-year-old man with systemic rheumatoid disease (rheumatoid arthritis, Felty's syndrome, rheumatoid vasculitis, and myositis). This patient did not have the acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Review of the literature suggests that the onset of his Kaposi's sarcoma may have been related to immunosuppressive therapy with corticosteroids.[1]
