A study comparing indapamide with cyclopenthiazide in geriatric patients.

The efficacy of indapamide was compared with cyclopenthiazide in geriatric hypertensive patients. On admission to the study patients were randomly allocated following a placebo run-in period before therapy commenced. Indapamide produced a greater fall in blood pressure which was well maintained in contrast to cyclopenthiazide. Both drugs were well tolerated.[1]
