Evidence is presented to show that nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs react with two sites on the cyclooxygenase (8,11,14-eicosatrienoate, hydrogen-donor:oxygen oxidoreductase, EC 1.14.99.1) [1].
Inhibitors of fatty acid cyclooxygenase 8,11,14-icosatrienoate, hydrogen donor:oxygen oxidoreductase, EC 1.14.99.1) were found to suppress the establishment of the interferon-mediated antiviral state [2].
8,11,14-eicosatrienoate was transferred about two times faster than these three fatty acyl groups [3].
Agonist-stimulated phospholipases release arachidonate, but not 8,11,14-eicosatrienoate, from human endothelial cells [4].
