Disease relevance of ZBTB12

Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that IL-10 G13 and G10 alleles are independent risk factors for venous thrombosis (Odds ratio:OR = 3.33, p = 0.003 and OR = 2.83, p = 0.03, respectively) [1].
This correlates well with the lesser toxicity of G10 and T7 [2].

High impact information on ZBTB12

IVS2 is particularly rich in stretches of 3-5 guanosines (namely, G1-G10) and we have characterized the role of these elements in the processing of this intron [3].
Using the 5' UTR, P2 and P3 genomic regions, however, isolates of EV-71 subgenotypes B3 and C4 segregated away from other EV-71 subgenotypes into a cluster together with coxsackievirus A16 (CV-A16/G10) and EV-71 subgenotype C2 clustered with CV-A8 [4].
