The Drosophila Mst ortholog, hippo, restricts growth and cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis [1].
We have analyzed a locus of Drosophila melanogaster located at 98C on chromosome 3, which contains two tandemly arranged genes, named Mst98Ca and Mst98Cb [2].
Coexpression of Mst and hSav led to phosphorylation of hSav and also increased its abundance [3].
