High impact information on RA3

  • METHODS: From January 2001 to January 2004 188 patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft with RA were divided into three groups: harmonic scalpel was employed in 61 (RA1), electrocautery in 63 (RA2), Potts-scissors and clips in 64 (RA3) patients [1].
  • No RA1 patient underwent re-exploration for bleeding compared to RA2 (p = 0.011) and RA3 (p = 0.02) [1].
  • He had been diagnosed as having RA 3 years previously and had been receiving 200 mg of bucillamine for 21 months [2].

Biological context of RA3

  • We are now assigning the death receptor 3 as a candidate gene for RA1, and the truncated form of Dbl proto-oncogene, which does not contain the 23rd and 24th exons, as disease gene for RA3 [3].
