High impact information on ARP6

  • SUF3 encodes the nuclear ACTIN-RELATED PROTEIN6 (ARP6), the homolog of which in yeast is a component of an ATP-dependent chromatin-remodeling SWR1 complex [1].
  • entr1 mutant perturbed in correct perception of ambient temperature in Aarabidopsis was identified as an allele of arp6 (arp6-10). Evidence from genetics, molecular biology and chromatin biochemistry suggest that ARP6 contributes to temperature sensing through incorporating variant histone H2A.Z into chromatin. H2A.Z nucleosomes show a peculiar temperature dependent occupancy to provide correct temperature information to the cell to regulate transcription globally [2]
