The ACVD task force on canine atopic dermatitis (II): genetic factors.

Canine atopic dermatitis is commonly diagnosed in pruritic animals. Many studies have attempted to determine the inheritance pattern of both atopic dermatitis and of elevated allergen-specific IgE production. Despite many clinical, laboratory and breeding studies, the mode of inheritance and genetic mutations underlying this disease currently remain elusive.[1]
