The forgotten female: Pediatric and adolescent gynecological concerns and their reproductive consequences.

Future reproductive performance is not often addressed in pediatric and adolescent gynecological conditions. This overview reviews conditions that present in childhood and adolescence and discusses what is known about the future fertility in these women. The following topics are selected: STD exposure, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, eating disorders, adolescent athletics, polycystic ovarian syndrome, premature ovarian failure, childhood cancer survivors, Mullerian duct anomalies, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, cystic fibrosis, and epilepsy.[1]
