High-speed liquid chromatographic determination of phenothiazine in commercial pesticide formulations.

Phenothiazine (thiodiphenylamine) in commercial pesticide formulations is analyzed by high-speed liquid chromatography and ultraviolet absorption detection. Phenothiazine is extracted from the formulation with methanol and injected into the liquid chromatograph. Methanol-water (1+1) is the mobile phase. The amount of phenothiazine is calculated from peak height ratios. The liquid chromatographic procedure is much faster than the infrared or colorimetric method and yields values in close agreement with both of these methods.[1]
