Suppression by thyroid hormones of glucosamine-6-phosphate synthetase activity in rat sublingual glands.

Thyroidectomy caused a significant increase in glucosamine-6-phosphate synthetase activity. Activity was returned to normal by injection of a physiological concentration of triiodothyronine. The results suggest that thyroid hormones regulate the activity of this enzyme in sublingual glands.[1]
