Antitumor agents from Jatropha macrorhiza (Euphorbiaceae) III: acetylaleuritolic acid.

The triterpene acetylaleuritolic acid was isolated from Jatropha macrorhiza (Euphorbiaceae) and showed tumor-inhibitory properties toward the P-388 lymphocytic leukemia test system. The compound was identified by means of IR, PMR, and mass spectrometry and by its transformation into the known methyl acetyloleanolate.[1]
