Chromosome localization of the mouse zonadhesin gene and the human zonadhesin gene (ZAN).

Zonadhesin is a recently discovered sperm membrane protein that binds to the extracellular matrix of the egg in a species-specific manner. The gene for zonadhesin maps to chromosome 5 in the mouse (Zan) and to chromosome 7 in the human (ZAN) in a position near the gene for the egg extracellular matrix protein ZP3.[1]
