High impact information on CD1E

  • The protein products of the other two genes, CD1D and CD1E, remain unknown [1].
  • Of interest is the finding that CD1A2, CD1B, and CD1E genes were found to be expressed by rabbit B cell populations [2].
  • Although a correlation between CD1E*01/01 genotype and recent C. jejuni infection or presence of antiganglioside antibodies was not found the overall findings indicate that susceptibility to develop GBS is associated with polymorphisms of CD1E and CD1A genes [3].
  • The 29 amino acid sequence of the SBU-T6 antigen did not match identically with the derived amino acid sequence of any of the previously reported sheep CD1 genes but had closest similarity to the derived sequence of human CD1E [4].
