A freshly cleaved mica surface silanized by 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane is flat over a large area, displays a controlled degree of hydrophobicity and contains positive charges [1].
The PCL/silica hybrids with different PCL contents were prepared through co-condensation reaction with triethoxysilane end capped PCL and tetraethyl orthosilicate [2].
In this approach, oleic acid and olyel amine stabilized FePt nanoparticles are first encapsulated through an aminopropoxysilane (APS) monolayer and then subsequent condensation of triethoxysilane (TEOS) on FePt particle surface [3].
The Si-O-PCL hybrid was synthesized by the end-capping of 3-isocyanatopropyl triethoxysilane with alpha,omega-hydroxyl PCL following sol-gel reaction with calcium nitrate tetrahydrate [4].
In this work, the crosslink density and thermal stability of the silica/rubber composites treated by silane coupling agents, i.e., gamma-aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APS), gamma-chloropropyl trimethoxysilane (CPS), and gamma-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (MPS), were investigated [5].
