Two new (3, 4) and two known (1, 2) genuine acylated bisdesmosidic triterpenoid glycosides of polygalacic acid (2 beta, 3 beta, 16 alpha, 23-tetrahydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid) were isolated from the aerial parts, as well as from the roots, of Solidago virgaurea L. subsp. virgaurea [1].
(Asteraceae) as well as related carbohydrate modified glycosides of polygalacic acid and echinocystic acid were investigated in view of their structure related cytotoxicity in the YAC-1- and in the P-815-tumor cell model [2].
