Inhibition of ornithine decarboxylase by the isomers of 1,4-dimethylputrescine [1].
N-Methylputrescine was a very poor inhibitor of the cell free ODC while 1,4-dimethylputrescine did not show any inhibitory effect [2].
This effect was not obtained with 1,4-dimethylputrescine, indicating that spermine, but not putrescine, exerts a negative control of AdoMetDC [3].
