Disease relevance of NITROFLUORANTHENE

Mutagenicity of the atmospheric transformation products 2-nitrofluoranthene and 2-nitrodibenzopyranone in Salmonella and human cell forward mutation assays [1].

High impact information on NITROFLUORANTHENE

After clean-up it was lowered to approximately 1.6-fold overestimation which was mainly caused by cross-reaction of 2-nitropyrene and 2-nitrofluoranthene [2].
In particular, 2-nitrofluoranthene (2-NFa) and 2-nitropyrene (2-NPy), which are mainly related to photo-induced chemical processes occurring in the atmosphere, were more abundant than 1-nitropyrene (1-NPy) usually associated to motor vehicle exhaust [3].
Metabolism of 2-nitrofluoranthene (2-NFA), one of the most abundant and genotoxic environmental pollutants in air, and of a mixture of 2-nitrofluoranthene and 3-nitrofluoranthene (3-NFA) was studied using (1) the fungus Cunninghamella elegans ATCC 36112 and (2) rat liver microsomes [4].
