Disease relevance of Zfp120

In contrast to the cell binding results, the F80 but not the F135 fusion protein enhanced the outgrowth of neurites from dorsal root ganglion cells; this activity was associated with the FnIII repeats of F80 [1].

We found an 80,000-molecular-weight fragment of P120 (designated F80) after extraction of fibroblast cells with detergent [2].
F80 was not found in extracted lymphoid cells, but mixing labeled lymphoid cells and unlabeled fibroblasts before extraction produced the fragment [2].
