Disease relevance of HEYL

  • In contrast to other tumor types, invasive breast cancer vasculature induced a high expression level of specific transcription factors, including SNAIL1 and HEYL, that may drive gene expression changes necessary for breast tumor neovascularization [1].
  • Post-inflammatory elastolysis and cutis laxa (Marshall, Heyl & Weber, 1966) is a skin disease in African infants which appears to be comparatively common in at least two countries [2].
  • Two of the murine isolates were identified as indole-negative variant strains of Pasteurella pneumotropica sensu stricto (i.e., type Jawetz), or of the type Heyl of Pasteurella pneumotropica, respectively [3].

High impact information on HEYL

  • We demonstrate the expression of HEYL in tumor endothelial cells and additionally establish the ability of HEYL to both induce proliferation and attenuate programmed cell death of primary endothelial cells in vitro [1].
  • We have isolated and characterized three new hairy-related bHLH transcription factor genes from mouse and human (hairy and Enhancer-of-split related with YRPW motif; HEY1, HEY2, and HEYL) [4].
  • Diwata (on Mindanao, Philippines), who were diagnosed to be mercury (Hg) intoxicated, were orally treated with 2 x 200 mg of the chelating agent DMPS (Dimaval, Co. Heyl, Germany) for 14 days in the course of a UNIDO project focusing on mercury pollution abatement [5].
