The amino acid sequence was 89% identical with that of human tubulointerstitial nephritis antigen-related protein [1].
Ala-screening mutagenesis studies on Arg1, Pro2, Arg3, Phe4 and Thr54 of Naja naja atra (Taiwan cobra) chymotrypsin inhibitor showed that inhibitory potency and gross conformation of the mutants were not significantly different from those of wild-type inhibitor [2].
MSCs use two enzymes involved in arginine metabolism to control T-cell responses: inducible nitric oxide synthase (NOS2), which generates nitric oxide (NO) and arginase 1 (Arg1), which depletes the milieu of arginine [3].
