Genomic data, gene expression, and in vivo enzyme activity data were integrated with in vitro biochemical data to propose in vivo roles for individual G6PDH isoforms in Arabidopsis [1].
Significantly, cytosolic phosphorylating (NAD-dependent) glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase mRNA levels are induced in the mutant, which correlates with an increase in enzyme activity. mRNA levels and enzymatic activity of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase were also elevated, correlating with an increase in NADPH concentration [2].

Associations of G6PD1 with chemical compounds

Sucrose-induced acquisition of defence mechanisms was shown by the gene expression pattern of a chloroplastic iron superoxide dismutase and by enhancement of whole-cell glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase activity [3].
