  • Among patients with RA, those with a higher total number of swollen and/or tender hand joints had significantly lower periarticular BMD at the metocarpophalangeal (MCP) and proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joints [2].
  • Intra-articular injections of erbium--169 citrate and methylprednisolone acetate in hand joints were compared in a randomly selected double-blind trial [3].
