After 12 weeks of methylprednisolone (MP) administration, the rabbit femur heads displayed cartilage erosions, marked decrease of glycosaminoglycans (GAG) content, and narrowing of joint spaces [1].
An analysis was made of histopathological developments in femur head cartilage in a group of Wistar rats receiving a daily intra-muscular injection of 2.5 mg prednisolone [2].
Bone samples from either the femoral condyle or femur head were taken an average of 65 minutes after the antibiotic was given and showed a mean cefoxitin concentration of 12 mcg/g. Simultaneous serum concentration was 63 mcg/ml [3].
Using the femur heads as an origin, the mean range of thoracic cage translation, measured as horizontal movement of T12 from neutral posture, was found to be 85.1 mm anterior and 73 mm posterior [4].
