Nucleocytoplasmic transport: Inside out regulation.

Cells can respond to extracellular signals by redistributing transcription regulators between the nucleus and cytosol. Recent findings in budding yeast indicate that the nuclear transport receptor Msn5p mediates the nuclear export of several transcription regulators after their phosphorylation in the nucleus.[1]
