Update in pituitary 2010.
This manuscript is based on an invited lecture entitled "The Year in Pituitary," presented at the 91st Annual Meeting of The Endocrine Society in San Diego, California, on June 21, 2010. The purpose of the lecture was to highlight new or evolving issues in the management of pituitary disease. Papers selected were published in major journals between January 2009 and June 2010. Issues addressed include the safety of cabergoline in pregnancy, recurrence of hyperprolactinemia after dopamine agonist withdrawal, pegvisomant and hepatic dysfunction, and high-dose hydrocortisone as a predictor of mortality in patients with acromegaly.[1]References
