Peripartum congestive cardiomyopathy and endocardial fibroelastosis associated with ritodrine treatment. A case report.

Congestive cardiomyopathy from endocardial fibroelastosis occurred in a 24-year-old primigravida with a twin gestation and preeclampsia. The patient was taking ritodrine for premature labor. Cardiovascular evaluation should be performed during the course of ritodrine treatment, and no patient should be discharged if she does not have normal cardiovascular function.[1]
