Decreased spleen size and increased neutrophils in patients with Felty syndrome. Effects of gold sodium thiomalate therapy.

Three patients with Felty syndrome were treated with gold sodium thiomalate. In all three, there was an increase in total numbers of peripheral blood neutrophils and total white blood cells, as well as marked clinical improvement of the arthritic complaints. In two patients there was a marked decrease in spleen size.[1]
