Disease relevance of Hyal1

We have also shown that the growth of two transplantable tumors, the 3LL carcinoma and the B16F10 melanoma, is influenced by the alleles at Hyal-1, in that the tumors develop more slowly in congenic B6.C-Hyal-1a (also called HW23) mice than in the parental Hyal-1b C57BL/6 mice [1].

High impact information on Hyal1

The Hyal-1 locus, which we have previously described and mapped to mouse chromosome 9, influences the serum levels and molecular weight forms of hyaluronidase [1].
Unlike PH-20, Hyal-1 and Hyal-2 did not induce p53 expression [2].
RESULTS: Murine L929 fibroblasts were engineered to stably express green-fluorescent protein (GFP)-tagged hyaluronidase (GFP-Hyal-1 or GFP-Hyal-2) or GFP alone [2].
Finally, Hyal-1 and Hyal-2 blocked TGF-beta1-enhanced L929 cell growth [2].
