Disease relevance of Dtymk

High impact information on Dtymk

  • Pretreatment of noninbred H mice with the drug markedly depressed the level of thymidine (dThd) incorporation into DNA in the spleen and also lowered the dThd and thymidylate kinase activities [2].
  • The virus-induced enzyme has a Km for thymidine of 0.8 micromolar, and for thymidylate of 25 micromolar, and for thymidylate of 25 micromolar; the ratio of Vmax for thymidylate kinase to thymidine kinase is 1 [1].
  • We also identified regulations of a thymidylate kinase and an interferon-regulated protein with a tetratricopeptide motive, both up to now only known from macrophages [3].
  • Differentiated L6 myoblasts had lower activities of cytosolic dNK's and TMPK, higher dGK and similar TK2 and deoxyribonucleotidases (dNT) activities compared to proliferating myoblasts [4].
  • Murine TMK gene expression in nontransformed BALB/c 3T3 cells was shown to be regulated during Gø to S-phase transit at both mRNA and enzyme activity levels [5].

Biological context of Dtymk

  • Unlike the preceding enzymes, thymidine kinase and thymdylate synthase, little is known about regulation of TMK after mammalian cells exit from quiescence and enter the cell cycle [5].
