Disease relevance of Hsp67Bc

The elements were obtained by screening lambda phage genomic clones containing rDNA units and by a polymerase chain reaction approach using degenerate primers to conserved sequences in the reverse-transcriptase domain, in combination with a second primer to the 28S gene 3' of the insertion site [1].

High impact information on Hsp67Bc

Removal of the 5'-flanking sequences of each gene and replacement with various sequences, including the tRNAArg gene 5' flank, does not allow increased transcription in HeLa cell extract [2].
In addition, conservation of nucleotide and amino acid sequence and similarity in hydropathy plots suggests that the gene 3' to Adh represents an ancient duplication of the Adh gene [3].
