Disease relevance of oprN

High impact information on oprN

  • The mutant cells lacking MexF produced undetectable OprN and only a full-size of MexE even though the cells had unimpaired oprN and mexE [2].
  • A cosmid clone harbouring the oprN gene was isolated by partial complementation of a mutant deficient in OprM, the outer membrane component of the mexAB-oprM efflux operon [3].
  • The results showed that oprD was relatively stable against carbapenem antibiotics. oprM was induced significantly by imipenem in only one strain and oprN was induced by imipenem in most of the strains [1].

Other interactions of oprN

  • The level of oprN mRNA was significantly up-regulated, while the oprD gene was down-regulated (although this difference was statistically insignificant), in the mutants [4].
