There were, however, detectable levels of DNA topoisomerase II in cells obtained from patients with diffuse histiocytic, nodular poorly differentiated and nodular mixed lymphomas, in Burkitt's lymphoma, acute lymphoblastic leukemia and CLL with prolymphocytic transformation [1].
Histologically, one was a lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL), one was small cleaved-cell lymphoma (SCCL), three were mixed-cell lymphomas (MCLs), and four were large cell lymphomas (LCLs) [2].

Fifty-two patients with stage III or IV nodular mixed lymphocytic-histiocytic lymphoma (NM) were entered on a prospective randomized trial comparing cyclophosphamide-prednisone (CP) to either COPP (cyclophosphamide, vincristine, procarbazine, prednisone) or BCVP (BCNU, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, prednisone) [3].
Eleven of 26 small lymphocytic or mixed-cell lymphomas and 3 of 10 "atypical" cases demonstrated an abnormal immunophenotype, including co-expression of CD43 and CD20 or non-physiological CD45RA distribution [4].
Patients with diffuse mixed lymphoma appeared to show a favorable response to cyclphosphamide, Adriamycin, vincristine, and prednisone (CHOP) and an unfavorable response to other treatment modalities [5].
