Disease relevance of Thyroid Diseases

Insulin, thyroglobulin and myelin basic protein (MBP) are implicated as autoantigens in the autoimmune diseases, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM), autoimmune thyroid-disease and multiple sclerosis [1].
