Sequence of a bovine c-kit proto-oncogene cDNA.

The Kit protein is a cell-surface tyrosine kinase receptor encoded by the c-kit proto-oncogene. cDNA clones encoding a protein homologous to the mouse and human Kit were isolated from a bovine cerebrum cDNA library. The deduced amino-acid sequence shows 83 and 90% identity to the mouse and human Kit, respectively.[1]
