Disease relevance of N-Bhpp

The effect of two 12-LOX inhibitors, Baicalein and N-benzyl-N-hydroxy-5-phenylpentamide (BHPP), on the mechanisms controlling cell cycle progression and apoptosis were examined in two prostate cancer cell lines, PC3 and DU-145 [1].

High impact information on N-Bhpp

Pretreatment of tumor cells with N-benzyl-N-hydroxy-5-phenylpentamide inhibited both increased 12(S)-HETE biosynthesis and tumor cell-induced endothelial cell retraction [2].
We found that the lipoxygenase (LOX) inhibitors AA-861 and BMD-122 (N-benzyl-N-hydroxy-5-phenylpentamide; BHPP), but not the cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor indomethacin, fully protected the cells from GSH depletion caused by cystine deprivation [3].
