High impact information on Cdh6

  • Cadherin-6 immunostaining was restricted to Sertoli-round spermatid and in Sertoli-elongate spermatid junctions at approximately stages XII-I [1].
  • Whereas N-cadherin, cadherin-11, and L4-positive cadherin were expressed from Postnatal Day 7 through adulthood, cadherin-6 protein was not present at Postnatal Day 7 and first appeared at Day 21 [1].
  • P-cadherin expression was absent in oocytes of follicles in later stages of development compared to K-cadherin, which was found in oocytes at all stages of folliculogenesis [2].
  • These included three renal-specific transporters (an ADH water channel, the anion transporters RST and ROAT1), a cell adhesion molecule (K-cadherin) and a kidney-specific protein upregulated in renal carcinoma (DD96) [3].

Anatomical context of Cdh6

  • Immunostaining showed P- and K-cadherin expression by granulosa, as well as thecal/interstitial cells, and also in oocytes of primordial follicles [2].
