High impact information on ADAMTS5

  • RESULTS: ADAMTS-4, but not ADAMTS-5, was induced in human chondrocytes infected with B burgdorferi [1].
  • Matrix molecules showed little change in expression after injurious compression, whereas MMP-3 increased approximately 250-fold, ADAMTS-5 increased approximately 40-fold, and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1 increased approximately 12-fold above the levels in free swelling cultures [2].
  • The expression of ADAM-TS4, ADAM-TS5, and MMP-13 was abrogated by the inclusion of 10 microM CSA in the culture medium [3].
  • In particular, ADAMTS-1, -2, -3, -4, -5 (also known as ADAMTS-11), -7, -8, and -9, but not ADAMTS-6, -10, or -12, mRNA transcripts were detected in granulosa cells of nonatretic ovarian follicles and corpora lutea [4].
  • RESULTS: Both aggrecanase-1 and aggrecanase-2 are able to cleave bovine and human biglycan at a site within their central leucine-rich repeat regions [5].

Other interactions of ADAMTS5

  • IL-1 treatment increased mRNA abundance for ADAMTS4 ( approximately 3-fold) and ADAMTS5 ( approximately 10-fold) but this was not accompanied by a marked change in enzyme protein abundance [6].
