Disease relevance of HSV-1-1

Positive results were obtained for 17 patients (6 HSV-1, 1 HSV-2, 1 EBV, 1 CMV, 6 VZV and 2 HHV-6) whose clinical and analytical findings were consistent with the PCR results [1].
A further 12 samples were positive in nPCR for HHV-7 (8), ADV (1), Enterovirus (1), HSV-1 (1), EBV (1) [2].
Four cases were positive for HSV-1; 1 of 11 Behçet's disease cases, 2 of 3 Sweet's disease cases and 1 of 3 erythema nodosum cases [3].
10 patients had herpes simplex virus type-1 (HSV-1), 1 had varicella zoster virus, 1 had tick-borne encephalitis, and 2 had Influenza A infections [4].
