The activity of 2,4,5-triamino-6-hydroxypyrimidine in the phenylalanine hydroxylase system [1].
Substrates were reacted with the Fenton reagent (Fe(2+)/EDTA/H(2)O(2)) and the mixtures were analyzed by HPLC using the 6-hydroxy-2,4,5-triaminopyrimidine fluorimetric assay [2].
Several tetrahydropterin derivatives are effective electron donors for this reaction, and 2,4,5-triamino-6-hydroxypyrimidine is somewhat effective, but NADH, NADPH, ascorbate, reduced dichlorophenolindophenol and glutathione are inactive [3].
The effect of riboflavin and iron on 6-hydroxy-2,4,5-triaminopyrimidine synthesis rate was investigated in the cultures of the yeast Pichia guilliermondii (rib2 mutants) with the blocked second reaction to flavinogenesis [4].
