The enzymes responsible for adenine and adenosine salvage, adenine phosphoribosyltransferase and adenosine kinase, were purified about 1,500-fold [1].
The ratio of hypoxanthine/guanine phosphoribosyltransferase activity to adenine phosphoribosyltransferase activity was 0.15 in the thyroid homogenates [2].
The spontaneous frequency of azaadenine-resistant phenotypes (mutant at the aprt locus) in 1% FBS plus BSA was significantly lower than the frequency observed in 2% FBS plus BSA or 10% DFBS [3].
