Disease relevance of Isopregnenone

A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of luteal phase dydrogesterone (Duphaston) in women with minimal to mild endometriosis [1].
It was concluded that the progestogen Duphaston and its 20-dihydro-metabolite are potent inhibitory agents on sulfatase and 17beta-HSD activities in breast cancer cells [2].
Only one spontaneous abortion occurred among the patients in a cycle supported with supplemental hCG, while 2 abortions occurred in the Duphaston supported group [3].

High impact information on Isopregnenone

In the present study we examined the effect of Duphaston and its 20-dihydro-metabolite on the sulfatase and 17beta-HSD activities in MCF-7 and T-47D breast cancer cells [2].
In the progesterone (Duphaston) luteal support group, 45 patients with the similar indications to the previous group were studied and 8 pregnancies (5 ongoing pregnancies) were reported with a general total pregnancy rate of 17.8% [3].
