Disease relevance of Lichen Nitidus

Papulosquamous disease which may present as a penile lesion include psoriasis, Reiter syndrome, lichen planus, lichen nitidus, seborrheic dermatitis, secondary syphilis, fixed drug eruption, erythroplasia of Queyrat, plasma cell balanitis of Zoon, bowenoid papulosis, and discoid and lichenoid chronic dermatosis of Sulzberger and Garbe [1].
Itraconazole, like griseofulvin, may prove to be an alternative treatment worth considering in patients with lichen planus or lichen nitidus who have failed other therapies [2].
