Trichostatin A (TSA; 0-5 microM), a histone deacetylase inhibitor, was used to increase histone acetylation and 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine (5-aza-dC; 0-5 microM), a DNA methyl-transferase inhibitor, was used to decrease methylation of chromatin in donor cells in an attempt to improve their reprogrammability [1].
Quantification of histone acetyltransferase and histone deacetylase transcripts during early bovine embryo development [2].
In general, expression of HDAC genes was elevated especially at the compact morula stage and comparable to in vitro fertilized (IVF) embryos at the hatched blastocyst stage [3].
