Disease relevance of polA

High impact information on polA

  • Possible roles of the P. aeruginosa dinB, polA, and polC gene products in mutagenesis are discussed [3].
  • DNA was integrated into the S. typhimurium chromosome at aroC by transferring the vectors into S. typhimurium polA mutants and allowing homologous recombination to occur between the cloned and chromosomal aroC genes [4].
  • However, mutants with defective excision repair were more susceptible to polA stimulation [2].
  • It was found that polA and polC extracts are deficient in the synthesis of supercoiled plasmid DNA, whereas the polB mutation has not effect [5].
