Disease relevance of Birth Intervals

High impact information on Birth Intervals

  • These data suggest that our earlier observations of increased birth interval lengths among Hutterite couples sharing HLA were predominantly due to longer intervals until a clinical pregnancy among couples sharing HLA-DR and, to a lesser degree, were due to increased fetal loss rates among couples sharing HLA-B [4].
  • This is particularly true for docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) because, on the basis of the current habitual diet, birth spacing appeared to be insufficient for the maternal DHA status to normalize completely [5].
  • The 24-h delay in birth of rats with small litters which delivered during the late birth interval appears to be attributable to a delay in functional luteolysis; the antepartum decline in serum relaxin and progesterone levels occurred about 24 h later in these rats than in rats that delivered during the normal birth interval [6].
  • Power calculations indicated the need to enroll 71 patients in each arm of the study, which would allow for the detection of a 4-hour reduction in vaginal birth interval for buccal misoprostol [7].
  • The mean (SD) lactation amenorrhea period and birth interval were 5.95 (5) and 26.8 (14.1) months, respectively [8].

Associations of Birth Intervals with chemical compounds

  • Neostigmine had no effect on birth interval [9].
  • Sows in pens had lower (P < .05) prepartum P4 concentrations from d -6 to the day preceding farrowing and a reduced (P < .05) piglet birth interval compared with sows in crates (12.95 +/- 1.35 min vs 18.31 +/- 2.21 min, respectively) [10].
  • RESULTS: The correlation for interpregnancy glucose screening test results was .60, .49 and .47 for pregnancy intervals of up to two, three and four years, respectively (P < .001) [11].

Gene context of Birth Intervals

  • Considerable improvements were observed in the percentage of women making use of ANC and practising birth spacing by using some form of contraception or other [12].
  • The methodological problems arising in the estimation of these preferences at short durations of marriage, with differential birth spacing, are discussed." (summary in FRE)[13]
  • Evidence of fertility regulation among rural French villagers, 1749-1789: a sequential econometric model of birth-spacing behavior (Part 1) [14].
  • Estimates of birth intervals in Pakistan, with and without the WFS restrictions [15].
  • Integrated birth spacing and MCH Program in Narativas Province [16].
