Disease relevance of nrdA

High impact information on nrdA

Chemical compound and disease context of nrdA

  • The data have been compared with those previously reported for B1 prepared from a thymine-starved E. coli B strain and with the indirectly derived primary structure of B1 recently reported from the nucleotide sequence of the E. coli K nrdA gene [8].
  • The results obtained show that cells of E. coli growing under either fermentative or nitrate respiring conditions present a lower basal level of both nrdA and nrdB genes transcription from the nrdPA promoter [9].

Biological context of nrdA

  • We suggest usage of other reading frames in the approximate area of residues 630-700 of the primary structure of the nrdA gene to compensate for these discrepancies and for the relatively high incidence of uncommon codons in the reading frame proposed for this area of the gene [8].

Associations of nrdA with chemical compounds

  • NDP reductase activity can be inhibited either by treatment with hydroxyurea or by incubation of an nrdA (ts) mutant strain at the non-permissive temperature [10].
