Disease relevance of ATP5A1

• In this study we have refined the localization of two of these genes by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to metaphase spreads, and further characterised the involvement of ATP5A in the amplification process in the retinoblastoma cell line Y79 [1].
• Data on prevalence of antibody to hepatitis B surface antigen (anti-HBs) and of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) among 95 matched pairs of Down's syndrome (DS) and other mentally retarded (OMR) patients in an institution were analyzed by age on admission and by length of residence [2].

Anatomical context of ATP5A1

• OMR improved delineation of the head of the pancreas on T1-weighted images in 72% of subjects but was less useful in defining the body and tail [10].
• The results indicate that the OMR reflects the existence of oral inflammation and can be used as a laboratory test with the same reservations as white blood cell counts for systemic inflammation [5].

• Mapping of the clones of hATP1 and Southern blot analysis of the genomic gene showed that there were a single copy of bona fide hATP1 gene and two pseudogenes [9].
• T1- and T2-weighted images of the upper abdomen and pelvis were obtained before and after oral administration of OMR at doses of 100-400 mg of iron in 300-600 mL of water [10].
• The expression of OMR beta and LIFR beta was determined by RT-PCR [13].
