High impact information on THP1

  • Biochemical analyses show that Sus1 interacts with SAGA, a large intranuclear histone acetylase complex involved in transcription initiation, and with the Sac3-Thp1 complex, which functions in mRNA export with specific nuclear pore proteins at the nuclear basket [1].
  • In vivo, Sac3p forms a stable complex with Thp1p, which was reported to function in transcription elongation [2].
  • The mRNA export machinery requires the novel Sac3p-Thp1p complex to dock at the nucleoplasmic entrance of the nuclear pores [2].
  • Retinoic acid (RA) and 12-O-tetradecanoyl-phorbol-13-acetate (TPA) induced differentiation of a human monocytic leukemia cell line, THP-1 [3].
  • Less than 20% of the untreated THP-1 cells were able to phagocytize yeasts and immunoglobulin G-coated sheep erythrocytes [4].

Biological context of THP1

Anatomical context of THP1

Associations of THP1 with chemical compounds

  • These results suggested that live and heat-killed M. furfur was recognized by THP-1 through mannose receptor, beta-glucan receptor and complement receptor type 3 via the activation of alternative pathway of complement [10].
  • 1-Keto-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrophenanthrene (THP-1) was reported by Cook et al. in 1933 as the first synthetic estrogen [11].
  • Yeast mannan and beta-1,3-glucan, random coiled conformer, inhibited the uptake of live and heat-killed M. furfur by THP-1, though dextran T-250, that is alpha-glucan, and schizophyllan (SPG), triple helix conformer of beta-glucan, did not [10].

Other interactions of THP1

  • We show that Thp1p and two other proteins previously shown to control transcription-associated recombination, Hpr1p and Tho2p, act in the same "pathway" connecting transcription elongation with the incidence of mitotic recombination [5].
  • This result suggests a functional relationship between Thp1p and Nab2p [12].
  • This indicates that Thp1p-Sac3p is a structural and functional unit [12].
